Privacy policy
Who is responsible
Forn, Zofingen, Switzerland, is responsible. Contact: info@forn.ch.
The demo form
When you send the demo form, we process: name, restaurant, e-mail, type of business, number of branches, message, consent, the page language and whether you want a test access. Purpose: to answer your request by e-mail. Basis: your request, that is, the steps before a possible contract. We store the data in our database (Supabase, Frankfurt region, EU) and send ourselves an e-mail notification to info@forn.ch through the Resend service (USA). We delete your request no later than 24 months after we receive it.
Protection against abuse
So that the form is not misused, we store a hash of your IP address, not the IP address itself. We delete it after 2 days.
The AI assistant “Questions for Forn”
Your questions are sent to Anthropic (USA), where the answer is generated. Forn does not store any IP address in plain text. To see which questions come up often and to improve the answers, we store the text of your questions without an IP address and without any link to your session. E-mail addresses and phone numbers that are recognised are removed automatically before storage. Other details that someone writes into the question themselves (for example a name) may remain in the text. We delete these questions automatically after 90 days. To limit volume and cost, we store: a hash of the IP address, a hash of the IPv6 network prefix (/48), the language, the number of tokens, a cost figure and the outcome of the request. This data is deleted after 40 days. Please do not enter personal data in the chat. The assistant is an AI and can be wrong; only what we confirm by e-mail is binding.
Hosting
The website is delivered by Vercel (USA). Server logs are created according to Vercel’s rules.
Transfers to the USA
For providers in the USA, we rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, otherwise on standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
We only use technically necessary storage: the browser remembers in localStorage that you confirmed the cookie notice. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party scripts.
Visitor statistics
We count visits without cookies. The IP address is not stored; it only flows briefly into a short value that changes every day and cannot be reversed. This lets us count the visits of one day, but we cannot recognise anyone across several days.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (nDSG), you can request information and the correction or deletion of your data. You can also object to the processing. Write to info@forn.ch. You can complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, EDÖB) in Bern.
